Bushfire Action Plans
Know exactly what to do before, during and after a bushfire.
The CFS advises every household and business in a bushfire risk area to have a written bushfire plan. Many people know they should have one but are unsure where to start, or have a plan that was written years ago and no longer matches their property. Paterson Bushfire Defence prepares bushfire action plans for homes, farms and businesses across the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and Barossa.
How we build your plan
Your plan starts with a visit to your property. We look at the buildings, access roads, water supply, vegetation and any existing sprinklers, pumps and hose reels. We then help you decide what you will do on days of high fire danger, including when you will leave and where you will go, and what you need to have in place if your plan is to stay and defend.
A written plan your household can follow
We put it all in a written plan built around the CFS Bushfire Survival Plan guidelines. It covers your triggers to act, your evacuation routes, the jobs to do before summer, and step-by-step instructions for starting and running your firefighting equipment. Everyone in the household or workplace should know the plan, so we can walk through it with your family or staff.
Where we find gaps, such as a pump that is too small or a water supply that is too low, we explain the options and give you a quote. Bushfire action plans are a paid service, and we confirm the price when you book.
